Eran dreamed of working in survey research ever since he watched election night on Israeli TV in 1981.
On his way to becoming a survey researcher, Eran spent years as a journalist in Israel. He was a radio reporter, television producer, and sports broadcaster. To this day, he is among the very few people who have broadcast NHL games in Hebrew.
In his role as SSRS Executive Vice President and Chief Research Officer, Eran oversees challenging projects often involving underrepresented and hard-to-reach populations. His clients work for research foundations, academic institutions, and the news media, focusing on public health, public policy, and healthcare. In recent years, Eran has led efforts to transition much of the SSRS data collection from traditional telephone interviewing to complex designs involving a combination of modes – online, phone, and mail – a mix of samples and multiple languages.
Eran has a Ph.D. in communication from the Annenberg School at The University of Pennsylvania. He regularly teaches Penn undergraduates who are writing their honors thesis, lending his expertise in research methodology.
