SSRS Text Message Panel

Probability-based, Quick Turnaround Polling

The SSRS Text Message Panel is a nationally representative TCPA compliant probability-based panel of U.S. adults aged 18 or older who consent to receiving text messages.

The SSRS Text Message Panel allows researchers to conduct text message-based surveys which are most suitable for:

  • Short (1 to 10 questions), quick turnaround studies (typically 1 to 2 days from start to finish).
  • Point-in-time data collection.
  • Cost-efficient population incidence estimate studies.
  • Question/concept testing.
  • Recruitment methodology.

The SSRS Text Message Panel is part of the SSRS Opinion Panel which contains only probability-based sample.

It recruits randomly selected panelists based on a nationally representative Address Based Sample (ABS) design with a prepaid cell RDD supplement.

Unlike typical opt-in panels, no one can “volunteer” to be part of the SSRS Text Message Panel. Potential members must be selected randomly and invited to participate.

All panel members are verified respondents and have given their explicit consent to be contacted via text message.

SSRS Text Message Panel Design and Data

Features that make the SSRS Text Message Panel a great fit for your research.

Survey Design

Panelists receive short and interactive text message-based surveys (as opposed to web-based survey links sent via text message).

The advantage of this approach is that these surveys can be taken by everyone who has a cell phone, and not just those with smartphones. Research shows that while 90% of adults have a smartphone, 7% of adults have a cell phone that is not a smartphone.* In addition, internet service is not required for text message-based surveys as it uses cellular data.

All panelists take surveys in their preferred language (English or Spanish).

Extensive Profile Data

A battery of demographic and other questions are asked during the recruitment of panelists.

This data is used for identifying target respondents, weighting, and can be appended to study data to expand what is known about respondents.
