Melissa Kiesche

Senior Vice President, Edison Audio Group

As Senior Vice President of the Edison Audio Group at SSRS, Mel leads some of the company’s most logistically demanding projects and directs much of the podcasting research. She was instrumental in developing Edison Podcast Metrics, a groundbreaking audience measurement tool for the podcast industry, and helped launch its expansion into the UK. Her insights are frequently featured in major publications, including The New York Times, where she provides expertise on trends shaping the podcasting landscape.

Before turning her focus to podcasting, Melissa spent the first half of her career building and leading Edison’s exit polling business, managing the operations for our work with the National Election Pool. That experience honed her skills in precision and coordination, qualities she continues to bring to every research challenge.

A proud graduate of Syracuse University, Melissa holds degrees in Television, Radio and Film from the Newhouse School of Public Communications and in Policy Studies from the Maxwell School of Citizenship.

Outside of work, Melissa leads her twin daughters’ Girl Scout troop and is always up for a local family outing, whether that’s hiking nearby trails or exploring a new town. She also loves trying new restaurants and cuisines, cheering on Syracuse basketball (GO ORANGE!), and finding simple ways to make everyday moments feel like an adventure.
