An Innovative Design for Challenging Circumstances
Verified Voters
The Voter Poll by SSRS™ is designed to feature real Americans reporting their real experiences and vote choices. It does this by matching survey respondents to the voter rolls maintained by state election offices to ensure active voter registration or by talking to people as they exit their voting locations. This approach helps ensure that the Voter Poll captures an accurate sample of the electorate for this election.
Multi-modal Design
Elections are complicated processes with Americans casting their ballots over a span of weeks and doing so both by mail and in person (depending on state rules). To meet this complex system, The Voter Poll by SSRS™ utilizes a multi-mode research design that combines mailed survey-invitations, phone and text interviews, our probability-based Opinion Panel, verified opt-in online panel respondents, and in-person interviews at voting precincts on election day in select locations. Using these diverse methods helps the Voter Poll reach voters where they are.
Innovation Combined with Experience
The Voter Poll by SSRS™ combines Edison’s history of expertise on exit polling going back decades with SSRS’s renowned ability to innovate in the high-quality research space. This election also merges the methodologies of the Edison/NEP Exit Poll and AP VoteCast/FOX News Voter Analysis, bringing together the networks (ABC News, CBS News, CNN, Fox News, MS Now, and NBC News) and the Associated Press for the first general election in a decade to apply their collective experience and approaches to this new election program.
