Sports have always been a way for me to connect with my family, especially my Dad. My earliest sports memories consist of my mom bundling up my brother and me to take us to the hockey rink so we could watch my dad play. Even though the games were just for fun, my brother and I would cheer our hearts out every week. Even after my Dad stopped playing, we still went to see our local college team play all the time. We had season tickets for almost a decade and even got to watch Providence College win the National Hockey Championship in 2015. I no longer live near my parents, and we do not have season tickets anymore, but my love for the game has not wavered. I still follow all the teams my family taught me to love and call my Dad anytime there’s a big game on.
