Veterans and the SSRS Opinion Panel

At SSRS, we are proud to use our nationally representative SSRS Opinion Panel of U.S. households to help researchers, policymakers, and organizations better understand the lives and experiences of those who have served in the military.

Veterans are a vital part of the American story, and thoughtful, evidence-based research is essential to capturing the full range of their perspectives — from service and transition to civilian life, to ongoing challenges and sources of resilience.

Our panel includes thousands of U.S. veterans and military-connected households, making it possible to conduct high-quality, representative studies on topics such as employment and education after service, access to health care and benefits, family well-being, civic engagement, and community belonging.

Whether through large-scale quantitative surveys or in-depth qualitative interviews, our team designs studies that balance rigor with respect — ensuring veterans’ voices are heard authentically and accurately.

Interviews with Veterans on the SSRS Opinion Panel

After fielding an SSRS Opinion Panel Omnibus poll on support for military veterans after service, we conducted one-on-one, in-depth interviews with veterans on our panel to gather their reflections on the findings.

Qualitative in-depth interviews were conducted in October 2025 with four panelists who had served in the U.S. military and who agreed to take part in a 30-minute interview over Zoom with a SSRS researcher.
