The Democratic Party, riding a tide of anti-Donald Trump sentiment, enters the final stretch of the midterm campaign with a 10-point advantage over Republicans nationwide in voters’ choice in their own congressional district, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS.

The poll also finds that more than three-quarters of voters see this election as their chance to change things up in Washington.

Survey Methodology

The CNN poll was conducted by SSRS from October 15-18 among a random national sample of 1,701 US adults drawn from a probability-based panel, including 1,206 registered voters. Surveys were either conducted online or by telephone with a live interviewer. Results for the full sample have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2.9 percentage points; it is 3.3 points among registered voters.
