Robyn Rapoport will be presenting at the ESRA Conference as part of the session Open Forms of Pretesting 2, taking place on Thursday, July 17, from 14:00–15:00 CEST.

Her presentation, “Refining Insights to Better Understand Fears and Uncertainties for People with Parkinson’s Disease: Leveraging Iterative Qualitative Research to Develop and Pretest a Survey Instrument,” highlights how flexible, multi-phase qualitative research can inform questionnaire development and cognitive pretesting. On behalf of the Michael J. Fox Foundation, SSRS conducted a multi-phase qualitative project to explore fears and uncertainties among people with Parkinson’s disease (PwP) regarding Parkinson’s disease and its progression.

This session brings together researchers who are developing and applying a range of open pretesting approaches, with a focus on the added complexity of working across different cultures and languages. It will also explore how insights from these methods can inform broader research beyond the original goal of survey pretesting.
