What platform do weekly podcast consumers use most often to listen to or watch podcasts? The answer to this question has changed dramatically over time, but Edison Podcast Metrics  has the latest data.

As of Q3 2026, YouTube has the highest percentage of U.S. weekly podcast consumers who say it’s the platform they use most often to consume podcasts. Podcast content on YouTube has dramatically changed the entire ecosystem and continues to gain ground as a destination for podcast consumption. Spotify ranks second, with 17% of weekly podcast
consumers saying that it is the platform they use most often for podcasts.
Apple Podcasts follows at 9%, remaining ahead of many other podcast platforms but accounting for a smaller percentage than in the past.

Farther down the list, in the number seven spot, is Netflix. In this latest release of Edison Podcast Metrics data, 3% of weekly consumers say Netflix is the platform they use most often to listen to or watch podcasts. While that percentage may seem small, it tells only part of the story. Over the summer this newsletter covered how much overall podcast consumption is happening on Netflix among U.S. weekly podcast consumers.
