According to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, Democrats hold a 5-point lead on the generic congressional ballot. Democratic registered voters report higher levels of motivation to vote than Republicans, and among those who say they are deeply motivated, Democrats’ advantage increases to 16 points.

Survey conducted January 9-12, 2026 online and by telephone with 1,209 adult Americans recruited from a probability-based panel.
